On the ground floor of an Art Deco building in Berlin-Schöneberg,  the bakery Sironi from Markthalle 9 has opened a new location.

The programme consists of a bakery for pizza and bread production;  a restaurant; a daytime café , and all of the necessary service infrastructure.

Located on a busy street corner, the L-Shaped floor-plan enabled the restaurant, bakery and café to be organised along the street facade. The restaurant faces onto one street, while the café and bakery face onto the other. The actual bakery (laboratorio) links the café with the restaurant. The pizza and bread production can be watched from the street through a public store-front window.

The design and details of the interior echoes the values of craftsmanship that are present in Sironi’s work. The material palette makes use of natural and long-lasting materials, such as: asphalt, steel, brass, wood, linoleum, ceramic and glass.
